Make a rich, creamy, and smooth white hot chocolate on the stovetop using real white chocolate. This easy winter beverage is perfect for cozy nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 6 ounces good quality white chocolate, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream, marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Pour the whole milk into a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the milk is steaming but not boiling.
  2. Reduce the heat to low. Add the chopped white chocolate to the warm milk.
  3. Whisk constantly until the white chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth. Do not let the mixture boil.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  5. Pour the white hot chocolate into mugs. Top with whipped cream or marshmallows if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use high-quality white chocolate for the best flavor and smoothest texture.
  • For a thicker drink, use slightly less milk or add 1/2 teaspoon of cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon of cold milk before heating.
  • This recipe is easily scaled up for parties.
