Make juicy, crispy chicken breasts in the air fryer in under 30 minutes. This easy recipe uses simple ingredients for a healthy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6 oz each)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts completely dry using paper towels. This helps achieve a crispier exterior.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, pepper, and salt.
  3. Brush the chicken breasts lightly on all sides with olive oil.
  4. Press the Parmesan mixture firmly onto both sides of each chicken breast, coating them evenly.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 5 minutes.
  6. Place the coated chicken breasts in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not overlap. Work in batches if necessary.
  7. Air fry for 15 to 20 minutes, flipping the chicken halfway through the cooking time.
  8. Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer; the chicken is done when it reaches 165°F (74°C).
  9. Remove from the air fryer and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispy results, you can lightly spray the coated chicken with cooking spray before the first flip.
  • If your chicken breasts are very thick, pound them to an even thickness (about 3/4 inch) for consistent cooking.
  • This recipe works well for meal prep; store cooled chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
