A simple and delicious recipe for homemade guacamole, perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 12 serrano peppers, minced (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 1/2 cup diced tomato

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
  2. Mash the avocado with a fork until it reaches your desired consistency. For chunky guacamole, leave some larger pieces.
  3. Add the chopped red onion, cilantro, minced serrano peppers, lime juice, and salt to the bowl.
  4. Stir gently to combine all ingredients.
  5. If using, gently fold in the diced tomato.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Add more salt or lime juice to your preference.
  7. Serve immediately or cover tightly with plastic wrap, pressing the wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole to prevent browning.

Notes

  • To prevent browning, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole before refrigerating.
  • For a smoother guacamole, you can mash the avocados more thoroughly.
  • Adjust the amount of serrano pepper to control the spice level.
  • This guacamole is a great side for taco night or a perfect party dip for game day.
