Ingredients
Scale
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
4 cups beef broth
12 ounces bowtie pasta
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
Pour in the beef broth and bring to a boil.
Add the bowtie pasta to the boiling broth. Stir to prevent sticking. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente and most of the liquid has been absorbed, stirring occasionally.
Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Cook, stirring, until the sauce is creamy and heated through, about 2-3 minutes.
Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, before serving.
Notes
For picky eaters, ensure the onion is finely chopped and well-cooked so it blends into the sauce.
You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the ground beef.
Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat.
