You need a crowd-pleasing dessert that requires almost no effort. This easy Crockpot Chocolate Fondue recipe delivers a rich, velvety dip perfect for parties, holidays, or a simple romantic evening. Set it up and let your guests dip their favorites.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips (Ghirardelli recommended)
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Place the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk into the basin of a small slow cooker (Crockpot).
  2. Set the slow cooker to low. Allow the mixture to heat for about 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes until the chocolate is mostly melted.
  3. Once smooth, stir in the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt until the fondue is completely creamy and uniform.
  4. Keep the slow cooker on the ‘Warm’ setting for serving. Stir occasionally.
  5. Arrange your favorite dippers around the slow cooker for a dessert bar setup.

Notes

  • For a Melting Pot copycat flavor, add 1 tablespoon of creamy peanut butter along with the chocolate chips.
  • Use a variety of dippers: fresh strawberries, banana slices, cubed pound cake, marshmallows, pretzels, and shortbread cookies.
  • If you do not have a slow cooker, you can prepare this on the stovetop over low heat in a double boiler, stirring constantly until smooth.
