A quick and easy skillet pasta with tender steak and a rich parmesan cream sauce, perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special date night.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fettuccine pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook fettuccine according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1 cup of pasta water.
  2. While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season steak slices with salt and pepper.
  3. Add steak to the hot skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until browned. Remove steak from skillet and set aside.
  4. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  6. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce thickens.
  7. Add cooked fettuccine, reserved steak, and optional sun-dried tomatoes to the skillet. Toss to coat everything in the sauce.
  8. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water until it reaches your desired consistency.
  9. Stir in fresh parsley. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best results, slice the steak against the grain.
  • Adjust seasoning to your preference.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
