Make sweet, crunchy cinnamon sugar pecans using simple ingredients. This recipe is perfect for snacking, holiday gifts, or topping salads.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk the egg white and water together until slightly frothy.
  3. Add the pecans to the egg white mixture and toss until they are evenly coated.
  4. In a separate small bowl, combine the granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Pour the sugar mixture over the coated pecans. Toss well until all the pecans are covered with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  6. Spread the coated pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes, until the coating is dry and the pecans are toasted.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the pecans cool completely on the baking sheet. They will crisp up as they cool.
  9. Break apart any clusters before storing.

Notes

  • For a sweet and salty flavor, add 1/4 teaspoon of fine salt to the pecan mixture.
  • Store cooled pecans in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
  • You can substitute pecans with walnuts or almonds for a similar treat.
