A festive strawberry-cranberry jam spiced with cinnamon, perfect for holiday gifts or breakfast boards.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups crushed strawberries (about 2 pounds)
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 box (1.75 ounces) powdered fruit pectin

Instructions

  1. Prepare your water bath canner, jars, lids, and bands.
  2. In a large pot, combine crushed strawberries, cranberries, sugar, and lemon juice.
  3. Stir in cinnamon, allspice, and cloves.
  4. Add powdered fruit pectin and stir well.
  5. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over high heat, stirring constantly.
  6. Boil hard for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  7. Remove from heat. Skim off any foam with a spoon.
  8. Ladle hot jam into prepared half-pint jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace.
  9. Wipe rims clean and screw on bands fingertip tight.
  10. Process in a water bath canner for 10 minutes (adjust for altitude if necessary).
  11. Remove jars and let them cool completely on a towel-lined counter.
  12. Check for seals after 12-24 hours.

Notes

  • This recipe makes approximately 5 half-pint jars.
  • Ensure your jars are properly sterilized for safe canning.
  • Store sealed jars in a cool, dark place for up to a year.
  • Refrigerate any unsealed jars after opening.
