2 tuna steaks (6 oz each)
1 tablespoon blackened seasoning
1 tablespoon olive oil
Optional: Avocado-mango salsa for serving
Instructions
Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels.
Rub both sides of the tuna steaks with blackened seasoning.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, or preheat your grill or air fryer.
Sear the tuna steaks for 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer for your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy: 115°F for rare, 125°F for medium-rare, 135°F for medium.
Let the tuna rest for a few minutes before serving.
Serve with avocado-mango salsa if desired.
Notes
For meal prep, you can make a marinade ahead of time. Combine 1/4 cup olive oil, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, and 1 teaspoon paprika. Marinate tuna for 30 minutes before seasoning and cooking.
