A quick and easy skillet dinner that brings the flavors of a Big Mac to your table, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1/4 cup chopped dill pickles for topping

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Stir in the ketchup, pickle relish, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
  3. Reduce heat to low. Place the cheese slices over the meat mixture and cover the skillet until the cheese is melted.
  4. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the bottom halves of the hamburger buns.
  5. Top with chopped dill pickles and the top halves of the buns.

Notes

  • For an extra special sauce, mix 1/4 cup mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons ketchup, 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish, 1 teaspoon white vinegar, and 1/2 teaspoon sugar.
  • Serve with your favorite french fries for a complete meal.
