Make this easy ham salad using leftover ham for a quick lunch or picnic food. It is creamy, tangy, and ready in minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked ham, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the finely chopped ham in a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Add the chopped celery and sweet pickle relish to the bowl.
  3. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, yellow mustard, and Dijon mustard until smooth.
  4. Pour the dressing mixture over the ham, celery, and relish.
  5. Add the black pepper and optional salt.
  6. Mix all ingredients together until everything is evenly combined and creamy.
  7. Taste the ham salad and adjust seasoning if needed.
  8. Cover the bowl and chill the ham salad in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  9. Serve cold on bread for the best sandwich filling, with crackers, or as a side dish for a potluck.

Notes

  • For the creamiest texture, pulse the ham in a food processor until finely ground, but do not over-process into a paste.
  • If you do not have leftover ham, you can use deli ham, finely diced.
  • This recipe is excellent for meal prep lunch; it keeps well for up to 4 days in the refrigerator.
