A quick and easy dump cake recipe that combines apple pie filling with snickerdoodle cake mix for a delicious fall dessert.

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) snickerdoodle cake mix
  • 1 can (21 oz) apple pie filling
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Pour the apple pie filling evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the dry snickerdoodle cake mix evenly over the apple pie filling. Do not stir.
  4. Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
  5. If using, sprinkle the chopped nuts over the top.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture over the cake.
  7. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  8. Let the cake cool slightly before serving.

  • For a crispier topping, you can add a layer of crushed pretzels or graham crackers before the cake mix.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
